Emmy's One Year Photos

My sweet baby girl has turned a year old! Makes me happy and sad at the same time, happy that we reached this milestone together and I survived my first year as a mom, but sad that this little girl is moving from baby to toddler. This first year seriously goes way too fast.

I had her first birthday theme planned for months. I decided to go on Pinterest to get some ideas, which turned out to be a million ideas lol. As a photographer I wanted my daughter's photos to be amazing so I tried to include all the ideas I could. Finding props, dresses, ideas, etc. It was a bit crazy, but I'm happy how they turned out!

As another idea, I decided to be part of her one year photos to also celebrate my first year as a momma! I dealt with bedrest, a difficult delivery, nursing issues, pumping problems, post partum anxiety, returning to work, etc....so I thought it was MORE than fitting to celebrate this one year mark with my little girl. Which I think all mommas should. I can't say this for all moms but this first year was VERY challenging. As a new mom you're just trying to keep your child healthy and safe, but as a new parent you're learning yourself which is challenging. As you learn from trial and error you get little birdies giving you tips, passing judgement, criticizing you for your choices...which makes parenting even more stressful. As long as you keep your baby happy, healthy, and fed, I think that's already an A+ job at parenting....aside from the late night cookie and wine attacks ;)
